Oleg Poliansky was born in 1968 and began playing piano at the age of 6. In 1975 he was accepted into the Lisenko Specialized School of Music for extremely gifted children in Kiev and studied piano there with N. Gridneeva and N. Tolpygo and studied cello till 15 years old with G. Grinchenko. Studies at the Lisenko School were followed by 5 years of training at the Moscow Gnessin Institute, where he studied with Professor Aleksandrov and afterwards with one of the greatest and most famous Russian music teachers, Professor Sergei Dorensky, who, at that time, was Dean of the Piano Department of Moscow Conservatory. It was Professor Dorensky who supervised his graduate studies from 1991 to 1993.
Oleg Poliansky now lives in the German city of Cologne where he collaborates with a very well known Professor, Pavel Gililov, under whose supervision he passed his own final concert exam in 2000. Poliansky is a winner of many international competitions, including 1986 piano competition in Tokyo, Japan; 1988 in Montreal, Canada; 1997 Duo-competition with violinist Susanna Gregorian in Marseille, France; 1998 in Cantu, Italy; the international Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, Russia.(All 3 rounds of the competition were performed on Kawai concert piano ) Both as a soloist and as a symphony accompanist or as well as a chamber music pianist (with a partner), he performed numerous concerts in almost all European countries, in North America and in Asia (Japan, Korea). Radio recordings and CD productions accompany his performing career. |
